Honeymoon Cruise

Finally! Greg’s catalog from Norwegian Cruise Line arrived in the mail; he has been waiting for this catalog for nearly three weeks! Of course last night we were going through the catalog and looking at the dates (since it included cruises for 2009) and picking which cruises we’d like to go on and which rooms we want to stay in. During the awe of everything I noticed something marked ‘EBF’ and read that it means “Early Booking Fee” and realized that there is a significant price difference between the “Brochure Fare” and the “EBF” and I told Greg that we should skip the European Honeymoon Cruise and go balls out on a Caribbean Cruise or Hawaiian Cruise since we could pay for more luxury items and the total cost would still be less and then take the European Cruise as an anniversary gift to each other once the kid(s) is/are older. Greg liked the idea and it’s now in serious consideration.

I brought the catalog into work with me and I’ve been looking through everything with a fine tooth comb and figuring out which options and ship and/or cruise to go on. This is all very exciting and not as pricey as I originally thought it would be. I’m thinking that maybe Greg and I or maybe I and a few girlfriends or even my Mom and I with Cousin April and other family friends could plan something out for fun in the future!  I’m very tempted to contact a Norwegian Cruise Line agent to get more details and what other kind of ‘specials’ they have for honeymoons.

  • I personally have been on 10 Norwegian Cruises. Last one was Pride of Hawaii which was great. My wife & I wanted to make sure we f=got to see all the sights in Honolulu so we went in 3 days before the sailing. It was worth it. Norwegian does all the islands on 2 different ships.
For the Caribbean, I don’t think there is an island that we missed in all our travels…my wife’s favorite is still St. Thomas since her jeweler is there (doesn’t make me too happy)
Just got back from Europe on Celebrity cruise. Not great to schlep small kids around. Save this for couples only.
Next trip is Norwegian Pearl for Christmas.
