… not the chapel (just yet)…
… we’re going to the airport…
because we booked (and paid a little more than the deposit) our cruise last night!!
We’re going to be in a stateroom with a balcony located toward the front of the ship (we might experience more ‘rocking’), but we’re located farthest from the elevators and other means of high foot traffic (which also means we’re farthest from the restaurants and other activities)
We’re going to be traveling to the western Caribbean via Norwegian cruise lines visiting the Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico.
Unfortunately, the cruise isn’t until March 01, 2009.
Greg and I have been ‘talking’ all day, via email, about the cruise and the itinerary, the shore excursions, restaurants on the cruise ship, activities, clothes shopping before for the cruise, etc.
Since booking this trip, I’ve thought about moving our wedding date up and having just a small, intimate ceremony now, go on the cruise as our honeymoon, and have a reception afterwards. Greg wasn’t keen on this idea but said we could talk about it.
There is a ligetemit reason I thought about moving the wedding date up, Greg’s brother, Pat, who is on two week leave at the moment, just found out that he’s being transferred to another unit, within the next 5 months, where he has to spend 41 weeks in Texas training, then go to Pennsylvania until he’s deployed for an undisclosed amount of time. I asked Greg how important it is, to him, for Pat be his best-man in the wedding and he said very important; and with this new information about Pat’s whereabouts we don’t know if Pat would be able to attend the wedding. So, who knows what the wedding date is now!
Nonetheless, we’re so freaking excited about our upcoming plans and trips.

The cruise sounds fantastic! But there is no way I would have the patience to wait that long!

typically, I don’t have that kind of patience either. So, I am banking on the probability that I will temporarily ‘forget’ about the cruise (hopefully when Greg and I begin planning our wedding more seriously) and then remember when there’s less than a month left.
That is my plan at least.
