Sunday’s Musings with Wedding Ideas!

Pretty lazy day for us. Amelia, some how, got a pancake stuck in her hair this morning; that was the highlight of the day.

I went to visit my brother and steal the use of his washer and dryer. I hung out for a little over two hours. It was a nice visit. We talked about our Mom’s 50th birthday next year and my idea of (now) a Disney Cruise. The Travel Channel has been playing Disney a lot and I’m starting to get the itch to visit. I’ve never been and Mom wants to go. And, since Greg and I were planning a family cruise after our wedding, maybe we could do a Disney cruise for her 50th. Sean and Aaron (his roomate) are all for the idea and I’m sure I can get a few others (April and Clayton, maybe Grandma). It’s something to mull over. Also, I was looking at their prices, and Greg and I could cruise for $1,028.40, total (not including airfare) this September. Of course, you get what you pay for and for that price you get a very teeny tiny stateroom. But, it’s something that is affordable and within our budget.

Greg cleaned up the living/dining area; even vacuumed!

Amelia was a bit cranky all day, I blame the weather. Maryland weather is so extreme; yesterday was nice, sunny (I actually have a sunburn) and warm, low 60’s, and today is the complete opposite; cold and rainy!

My hip muscles are sore; I don’t know if it’s from yesterday afternoons sex-capades, or from spending three hours at the park (I’m going to claim sex is the reason).

I am starting to warm up to WordPress 2.5, though I seem to have lost my spell check button.

I’ve been doing some wedding ‘window’ shopping. I still don’t know what Greg and I are going to do for our wedding (real ceremony or justice of the peace) but it doesn’t hurt to look around anyway. I have found these wedding favors/place card holders:

It’s a picture frame. I believe the website was charging $3.95 per frame. Not too bad, and it coordinates with the fall theme.

I’ve also been looking at wedding bands. I want something to match my engagement ring:

Engagement ring

So here are the bands I’ve found, and liked, so far:

Ring 1

Not too keen on this ring, but it has the round and baugette diamonds as in the engagement ring

Ring Two

This one is a little better as I like the alternating diamonds

Ring Three

This ring matches the diamonds on the side of the e-ring band, but I don’t know if it’s unique enough

Ring Four

It’s all round diamonds and the band is thick (sturdy), but it doesn’t grab my attention enough

Ring Five

I like this one because of the alternating diamonds and that the diamonds are not ‘in’ the band like in Ring Two. Of the five posted, I like this one the most.

I’ve also done a little cake shopping and I think I found the wedding cake that I want:

Except our cake won’t have the ’sash’ or the braid, but I might add a ‘ribbon’ of a deep red instead (where the braid is).

We’re still location shopping and we’ve added one or two more places such as Celebrations at The Bay. Within the next few weekends, we’re going to start setting up appointments to tour the locations and talk numbers with the sites. I am thinking about asking potential sites/vendors about partial sponsorship - seeing if we can work out a deal if we ‘advertise’ their business on our wedding ’stuff’ (napkins, invitations, my blog/wedding website, etc); I’ve read about other brides/grooms doing it before and I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. Besides, I’m seeing a lot more traffic to my blog via wedding related search terms and that those who are checking in are checking out via clicks from my Wedding Resources page, which gives me some leverage (just need to track the hits and provide numbers and such).

Now it’s late and time to get ready for another work week!
