First Half

The first half of Saturday was spent quickly and quite well.

Amelia had her 15 month check up this morning, around 10. She received 2 shots and a clean bill of health, aside from the cold she has.

Amelia now weighs: 20lbs and 12 oz. and is 30 inches tall. Not much of an increase in weight from her one year check up; actually, she’s only gained 12 oz in the last 3 months. The doctor states that the little weight gain could be due to her being much more active and the fact that she hasn’t had much of an appetite recently. She’s perfectly healthy and bright (she kept telling the doctor that she wants to get down and when he was giving her the shots, she kept telling him, through her tears, that she was done - it was so cute).

After her doctor appointment we went to JC Penny’s and had a shopping spree for Amelia. We bought 14 outfits and saved$126.00 and only spent $90 (including a donation). I was so thrilled with the amount of money that we saved, that I called my Mom and told her to call April and to go to JC Penny and stock up on summer clothes; EVERYTHING was 50% off! Also, I wanted to play ‘dress up’ with Amelia when we got home; we bought cute summer dresses and shirts, skirts, and outfits galore! Greg even had fun shopping for clothes for Amelia. And, we were in and out in about 20 minutes. There was no one else in the store and no lines at the register. It was a great shopping experience.

After JC Penny’s we went to Giant to buy some more milk (apparently Amelia is to be drinking whole milk until she’s 3-4 years old) and diapers (we bought two boxes, one Pampers and one Huggies) for home and daycare) and other knick knacks.

Stopped at Checkers for lunch and ate at home. Amelia was chowing down on my hamburger! It was so cute to watch her take such big bites (she also had and assortment of fruit for lunch).

After lunch came nap time. She still fights nap time with such tenacity! She finally fell asleep and so did I.

I’ve been debating about going to Nightime Pediatrics for myself. I didn’t care much for when we took Amelia last year, but since I’m able to describe mysymptoms, maybe the service will be better. I’ve been having this pain around my rib cage since Wednesday and it hasn’t gotten any better. Greg thinks I’ve pulled a muscle (don’t know how that could have happened) but I think it’s something different; the pain feels under my ribs and the on the outer side on my back. But, it’s been going on since Wednesday… and aleve isn’t working on relieving the pain… could be something else… my thoughts are wondering to my liver… oy.

Do, that’s how I’ve spent the first half of my Saturday.
